Zovirax is an antiviral used in the treatment of conditions caused by the herpes virus. It works by preventing the virus from reproducing, and is effective against chickenpox (varicella), shingles (herpes zoster) and infections of the genitals. It may be used to treat such other conditions as your physician thinks appropriate. It should be noted that Zovirax is not a cure and does not kill the virus. Thus, it does not prevent the sexual transmission of infection to others. |
