Retin-A Gel is a vitamin A derivative used in the treatment of acne. The mechanism which produces this beneficial effect is not fully understood but it seems to increase the turnover of skin-cells and to reduce the tendency for skin cells to clump together to form acne. This allows the skin an opportunity to heal more quickly. It may be used to treat such other conditions as your physician thinks appropriate.
