Elidel is a topical immunomodulator prescribed in the treatment of atopic dermatitis, sometimes called eczema, among patients whose symptoms have not responded to other treatments or who cannot take other drugs. It works by modulating or changing the way in which the body's immune system releases chemicals that cause redness, inflammation and itchiness of the skin.
